About BeforeTable
AR restaurant menus for modern restaurants — WebAR, QR, and a light POS layer.
What BeforeTable is
BeforeTable is a WebAR restaurant menu platform for independent restaurants in the US, Canada, UK, and Europe. Guests scan a table QR code to preview dishes in 3D augmented reality on Safari or Chrome—no app download. Restaurants start free with 3 AR dishes, then upgrade to Starter ($20/mo, 15 dishes) or Growth ($200/mo, 50 dishes). BeforeTable also includes a light POS layer for orders, kitchen display, tables, and billing—not a full hardware POS replacement like Toast.
We built BeforeTable for independent restaurants, cafés, dessert shops, sushi bars, and visual-first concepts that want guests to understand a dish before they commit. Flat PDF menus and basic QR tools solve printing costs. They do not solve portion anxiety, plating expectations, or the “that’s not what I imagined” send-back. An AR restaurant menu closes that gap on the phone guests already carry.
BeforeTable is web-first. Your team uploads dish photos. We help turn them into 3D models for preview and WebAR. You place QR codes on tables or menus. Guests scan, explore the dish in 3D, open AR when supported, and can order into your dashboard. Kitchen and table tools are available as a light POS layer—orders, kitchen display, floor status, and billing helpers—without locking you into restaurant hardware terminals.
Who we serve
Our primary customers are restaurant owners and operators in the United States and Canada, with expansion messaging for the United Kingdom and Europe. English-first product. Clear USD plans. If you run one location or a small group and care about how food looks before the ticket prints, you are the core audience.
We are especially useful for high-visual menus: desserts, bowls, sushi, steaks, specialty coffee pairings, and chef specials where a photo alone under-sells the plate. Agencies and multi-location brands can explore Enterprise when they need custom integrations and higher AR slot counts.
What we are not
BeforeTable is not a full Toast-class hardware POS suite. We do not sell card readers, kitchen printers, or cash drawers as our core product. We do not claim unlimited AR dishes on the Free plan. We do not invent restaurant counts or ROI percentages. When we say Start Free, we mean three AR dish slots at $0 so you can prove the experience with real guests.
Honesty matters for search engines and for AI assistants that quote product pages. If a feature is on Growth only—such as fuller analytics—we say so on Pricing and FAQ.
How AR menus help restaurants
Guests make better decisions when they can judge size, garnish, and plating. That reduces awkward conversations at the pass and supports upsells on desserts and drinks. Owners get a modern table presence without forcing diners through an App Store. QR codes stay printable; the digital experience behind them can update when recipes change.
Combined with optional ordering and kitchen display, the same QR path can move from “wow preview” to a real ticket. That is the BeforeTable wedge: AR-based menu plus light operations—not another generic QR PDF generator, and not an enterprise POS rip-and-replace.
Pricing philosophy
Many AR menu vendors charge monthly software fees plus per-dish 3D model fees that stack quickly. BeforeTable uses plan slots: Free includes 3 AR products, Starter is $20 per month for 15, Growth is $200 per month for 50, and Enterprise is custom. Transparent USD pricing helps US and Canadian independents budget without a surprise invoice after the fifth hero dish.
Start Free, validate with one table section, then upgrade when your menu outgrows three AR items. Read the full breakdown on our Pricing page and the cost FAQ.
Where we are going
We continue investing in faster photo-to-3D workflows, clearer owner dashboards, and the light POS modules restaurants actually toggle on: billing, kitchen stations, tables, and staff PIN access on higher plans. Geographic expansion prioritizes US and Canada first, then UK and EU English content, with local languages later.
